Targeted area in Southeast Nebraska along the warm front for tornadic supercells. Storms did fire near dark, but only briefly severe. Tornado warning was issued late, but no tornadoes observed.

Yesterday:
Targeted southwest Kansas, and intercepted three tornadoes near Latkin and Friend, Kansas. Deployed two instruments in one large tornado core near Latkin. Currently in Hays, Kansas. All of the tornadoes intercepted were from one cyclic supercell that initiated in far southwest Kansas.
A great first day for operations.

Preparations are being rushed to completion for a first-run of a limited TWISTEX field operation beginning today.
Tonight: Staging in either Lamar, Guymon, Boise City or Dumas, TX.
Thursday: Eastern Texas Panhandle/western Oklahoma
Friday: Central Oklahoma down to the Red River
Time of departure: 2 PM today
